University President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez engaged the CSU Piat academic community yesterday in discussions on the University’s development initiatives, gathering insights from faculty and staff.
Prior to the campus meeting, the University President, together with University Technical Adviser Dr. Florentina S. Dumlao, participated in the Finalization Workshop on Project Proposal Writing for Dairy Research, Extension, and Production conducted in collaboration with the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC). The activity forms part of the provisions of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed in the latter part of January between CSU and PCC.
Under the agreement, both institutions committed to sustaining collaborative research undertakings to strengthen livestock research and development (R&D) programs in support of PCC’s mandate under Republic Act No. 7307 and Republic Act No. 12308.
Following the workshop, Dr. Ibañez met with the faculty and administrative staff of CSU Piat to review campus performance targets and discuss priority development programs.
A key focus of the dialogue was the proposed Orchard Establishment Project, which aims to plant fruit-bearing trees across the campus’ extensive barren land areas. The initiative seeks to promote productive land use, contribute to the national government’s greening program, and potentially serve as an Income Generating Project (IGP) for the University.
During the meeting, Dr. Ibañez encouraged open dialogue, inviting faculty and staff to share their perspectives and recommendations to ensure that development efforts are responsive to the campus’ needs and aligned with the University’s long-term goals.
The engagement also included ocular inspections of identified areas for proposed projects, such as the landholdings designated for the orchard initiative.
Meanwhile, Dr. Dumlao presented the Office Performance Commitment and Review (OPCR) of the President, clarifying updates on the alignment of faculty and staff duties—as reflected in their Position Description Forms—with targets under the Individual Performance Commitment and Review (IPCR) and OPCR.
She emphasized that these adjustments are anchored on the Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS) to ensure accountability and coherence in achieving institutional priorities.
