Radiant Star of Resilience: A Tribute to Faith, Craft, and Tradition
Our lantern, shaped as a radiant star, stands as a symbol of resilience—its light born from the hands, skill, and spirit of our students. Crafted from sequins and repurposed discs, each piece cut, sewn, and designed with care, the star reflects the brilliance that emerges when creativity meets perseverance.
At its heart, the lantern carries dual images: Mama Mary on one side and Jesus on the other—an enduring testament to the deep devotion of the Piateños and the true essence of our Christmas celebration. Their presence at the core of the star reminds us that faith is our guiding light, especially in moments that call for strength.
The design also honors the university’s niche program in meat and dairy production. The float beneath the star captures the figure of a cow, the symbol of our dairy heritage that defines our campus.
This harmony between the heavenly and the earthly reminds us that our gifts—whether creative, spiritual, or academic—are meant to illuminate the world around us.
