CSU–Piat Opens ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Audit

Cagayan State University–Piat Campus officially opened its ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) audit this morning, reaffirming its commitment to institutional excellence and continuous improvement.
The opening program was led by Dr. Laizel D. de Dios, Campus Quality Assurance Coordinator, who formally welcomed the auditors from TNP. The audit team is composed of Ms. Amelita Lilibeth Cruz, on-site auditor, and Ms. Romelia Mendina and Mr. Mark Ilagan, who are serving as remote auditors.
In his message, Campus Executive Officer Hitler C. Dangatan, PhD emphasized that the ISO audit serves as a vital mechanism for assessing the campus’ compliance with internationally recognized quality management standards. He highlighted that the process allows the university to evaluate the effectiveness of its systems, identify areas for enhancement, and strengthen a culture of continuous improvement. He further noted that the audit aims to ensure that CSU–Piat’s academic and administrative services remain efficient, consistent, and aligned with stakeholder expectations.
Following the message, Ms. Cruz presented the audit plan and outlined the procedures for the day. After the opening program, process owners proceeded to their respective offices for the conduct of the audit.
Some of the offices included in the audit are Top Management (Office of the CEO), Campus Planning Office, Quality Assurance Office, Guidance and Admission Office, College of Teacher Education, and College of Criminal Justice Education. The audit is scheduled as a one-day activity, with some offices undergoing assessment remotely or through online platforms.
The ISO 9001:2015 audit underscores CSU–Piat’s ongoing efforts to uphold quality standards and deliver excellent services to its stakeholders.
